Meet, clarify and organise

Your initial consultation: prepared clearly, open in outcome

The first conversation helps us understand your request and determine whether and how we can support you. You do not need a finished plan or a complete set of policy documents.

Before the conversation

Choose a broad topic and your preferred contact method. Please do not enter health information, claim details, policy numbers or information about other people in the public request form.

During the conversation

We listen, ask clarifying questions and organise possible next steps. Examples include a later contract overview, a needs discussion or preparation for a comparison. This does not create an obligation to buy anything.

After the conversation

If more detailed advice appears useful and you want to continue, we transparently agree the scope and a secure method for exchanging necessary information. Recommendations follow only once the relevant information is available.

Initial information in text form

Before any advice begins, you receive the legally required initial information (Erstinformation) in text form. Among other things, it contains details of the status as an insurance broker, the registration and how MB Finance is remunerated. It also names the arbitration bodies you can turn to with complaints. This way you know from the outset who you are talking to and on what basis you will be working together.

How to arrange an appointment

For your request, you only need your contact details and a broad topic. Details of your situation are discussed in the conversation, not in the form.

  1. Choose a topic: for example general orientation, finance and future planning, insurance and protection, or self-employment and business.
  2. Get in touch: Send the request form with your contact details and preferred contact method, or book an appointment directly via Microsoft Bookings.
  3. Agree the appointment: The time and the language of the conversation are agreed. No further documents are needed for this step.

Across Germany and in three languages

You do not need to live in Hamburg to have an initial consultation: conversations can be arranged regardless of where you live in Germany. The conversation can take place in German, English or Persian; the same applies to any later advice. Ideally, state your preferred language when you make your request. The website is also available in Russian, Arabic and Turkish; however, conversations are not offered in these languages.

What you can prepare

Preparation is not necessary, but it can make the conversation easier. A few notes are enough. Helpful points include, for example:

  • Your concern: What prompted you to get in touch, and what should be clarified by the end?
  • Your questions: Note down what you definitely want to raise.
  • Existing contracts: a rough overview of which types of insurance or pension provision you have, with which provider and since when. Policy numbers and documents are not needed for the initial consultation.
  • Goals and time frame: for example a planned move, starting a family or becoming self-employed.
  • Pension information: If the topic is retirement planning, a look at your latest pension information (Renteninformation) helps to estimate the order of magnitude. You do not need to send it in advance.
  • Your financial scope: what monthly amount would in principle be sustainable, and what you definitely do not want.

Questions you can ask us

The initial consultation is also an opportunity to get to know MB Finance. Questions about how we work are expressly welcome, for example:

  • On whose behalf do you act, and how are you remunerated?
  • Which providers are included in a comparison, and how is the scope determined?
  • What information do you need from me, and how can I send it securely?
  • How are my existing contracts taken into account if I want to keep them?
  • What happens after the conversation, and who decides whether to take out a contract?

This content provides general orientation. Situations and benefits mentioned are examples; the specific need, policy terms and individual advice are decisive. It does not state a price, acceptance or cover decision.

Frequently asked questions

Which documents do I need?

Usually none for the first orientation. If documents are needed later, we will explain exactly which ones and how they can be transferred securely.

Do I have to buy anything?

No. The first conversation is for orientation and does not automatically lead to a contract.

Is the initial consultation free of charge?

Yes. The initial consultation is non-binding and free of charge and serves as orientation. You decide whether advice follows afterwards. How MB Finance is remunerated for any later advice and brokerage is explained in the initial information.

Why should health data not be entered in the request form?

The form is only used to get in touch. Health data is among the specially protected categories of personal data, and, like claim details or policy numbers, it is not needed for the first orientation. If such information is later required for advice, a secure channel will be agreed for it.

Can I arrange an initial consultation if my contracts were taken out elsewhere?

Yes. Even if your contracts are held through another intermediary or directly with an insurer, you can arrange an initial consultation. You do not need to intend to switch. Whether and to what extent further support makes sense is clarified in the conversation. You decide whether existing contracts continue.

What happens if MB Finance cannot help me?

That can also be an outcome of the initial consultation, for example if a request lies outside the topics offered. In that case, we will tell you. This creates no obligation for you.
